The market is down right now, and with the end of summer approaching prices go down again. If the bike is in very good condition and it fits you, I would feel that $400 is about what it's worth - maybe up to $500 in some markets.
Other, more popular brands and Campagnolo/Dura-Ace component groups will command higher prices.
Hope this helps.

If it's a 56 or 57, I'd buy that every day of the week for $400. In NYC, I think it's closer to $500-550 at least.

if its one of the originals bikes, a very nice find indeed. Of course, not really knowing what they're asking but I wouldn't hesitate to at least make an offer. Have no idea of what 'value' may be as down here in Alabama, even the post-buyout models are pretty rare.

$650 is fair on this. $700 if it fits.

It is 1984 or 1985 vintage and would likely made by Rossin for Miele. They switched to Colnago in 1986 for their top frames and went to in house production by 1989. No doubt a great bike but 800 is too much unless you are really into the bike.

Re:

Condition is everything. This looks to be in excellent condition... worth more if the parts were Campy, but Superbe is great stuff. $650-$700.
