Any thoughts on the Schwalbe G One Speed?

I’m thinking about the 35c for a fast, supple ride on crappy pavement. The reviews are pretty stellar from my research.

I'd be inclined to go gravelking for that, but only because Schwalbe tires are $$. That said, I am a bit of a Schwalbe fanboy. I have some G Ones in the stash but haven't ridden them yet.

GravelKing 35c slicks are incredibly sluggish on the road, in my opinion. The Gravel King SS (with treads) are actually much faster.

35mm G One Speeds felt stiff in comparison to 38mm GK slicks when I ran them a few years ago. They might have changed the compound since then, though.

If you want something fast, Enve now offers their SES tires in 35.

I tried the G one speed and thought they were meh.

I looked at them but went with Continental Terra speed in 35 but I couldn’t tell you why I chose one over the other. I just put them on my bishop for early spring junk pavement. They have nice grip and level out the pavement but are not supple big slick tires at all but you probably have other wheels for those tires when you want them.

You can get Conti GP5000 in 700x35 these days. Why look elsewhere if you want a fast and durable tire.

This has not been my experience at all. I have GK 35 slicks on a pair of Enve 3.4's on my Norco Section S (the purple bike). They are fantastic on dirt and gravel, punching way above their slick profile, and I've done several group rides in the 23-25 mph range on them and worked only a little harder than on, say, an aero road bike with GP5000 28's.

But! I also had a pair of G-One Allrounds on the same bike, 35mm wide, and those were quite fast, too. But they did not feel nearly as supple --they were fast but a little rigid.

But but! I just ordered a pair of Schwalbe G-One RS 40's, which are by most accounts quite durable and incredibly fast --perhaps the fastest gravel tire out there and faster than most road tires. I haven't mounted them on my Mog yet, but will have a full review next week --I am really looking forward to these, almost as much as I'd look forward to a new bike. If they're as good as all the reviews say, gosh, why bother riding anything else?

I’ve run G-one speeds in the 700x30 size on a handful of different bikes. They felt fast, gripped well and didn’t puncture in the few thousand miles I rode them. Definitely easier to set up tubeless than gravelking slicks. I have recommended these to friends looking for a high volume road training/light gravel tire.

I have run the G One Speeds at 30c on my road bike for years and love them. Great grip and puncture resistance on rougher roads, and plenty fast for me. Been worth the premium price.

I have a pair of 29's on my Melee. Definitely legit. They feel really good, and as far as I can tell, they're not slowing me down any.
I've had 'em on a few bikes now, in various sizes (25s and 27s). Grip in the wet is just okay. Otherwise, no complaints at all.

I've been through a few sets of g-one all around and they've been fast and reliable every time. Sure they're expensive but you get what you pay for. I dont think the all around tests any slower than the speed, FWIW.

I always felt like gravel kings were a bit of a pain, requiring extra tubeless tape and hated how they felt on the road.

I don't think. The only way to get a "5000" Conti in that width is via their newer All Season model and prices on those are pretty steep.
