Wrapped, because stainless doesn't mean rustproof. In fact, you really have to baby them.

It's basically an Internet meme on wheels that rusts and can't even pick up a Christmas tree.

I have yet to see one, and I've been to a Tesla showroom once since it came out.

Kind of shocking, because Teslas are becoming incredibly common here. They are everywhere.

I think we're all just old. Sure I think driving one would be like getting a forehead tattoo, but my son thinks it's amazing.

Reminds me of a Honda Element joke I heard, what element is a Honda Element made from--Butt Uglium (Actually I like these cars-just joking)

I saw Cybertruck on 280 freeway last week, it is a joke, designing a car with flat panels makes zero sense as they have no stiffness and will oilcan and not stay flat. If you do not passivate the stainless it will quickly show small spots of rust, especially if near the coast. I guess keep some Bar Keepers Friend in the frunk.

Just saw one in the wild for the first time an hour ago on my way back from a ride....actually, i am more interested in "who would buy or drive one" so my eyes were trained to look inside towards the driver seat in that split second moment - I think I saw a Cyborg. No, seriously. Like those guys with the black sunglasses in the suits in the Matrix movie.

As they say, dressed appropriately for the occasion.

That vid was interesting...

I could only watch half of it cuz the guys were as ridiculous as the vehicle they were reviewing. Speed is fun but stop light to stop light in 3 seconds? Other than the sound system it sounds like (pun intended) a damn joke. Every rich person should have one in their fleet.

It's a reflection of the company's owner, no doubt but they will sell 'em. Remember when Elon hyped the bullet proof windows?..great entertainment.

That's a lot of words, signifying very little.

It is different though. This doesn't happen on painted panels. Nobody else has to use Bar Keepers Friend on their car.

I've heard it called the incEl Camino.

Everything about the design screams "I live in my mother's basement and behave like a 12 year old."

Which is a shame because the truck has a lot of potentially neat tech inside. 48V main system, steer-by-wire, etc.

Not that I'd want to be Tesla's beta tester for either system. They have a pretty atrocious track record for early release reliability.

Lexus was planning to roll out steer-by-wire on its crossover EV, but I gather they ran into problems and the crossover was released with normal steering.

I've not seen one yet

I do like that it doesn't look like other vehicles, but don't find it that appealing. It looks like a DeLorean and a Hummer got together and the offspring favored the mom more.

It also looks like the designer was too much a fan of Space 1999 as a kid.

I hope to go EV in 2025 when our ecodiesel jeep is out of warranty. My wife wants to stay at similar ride height, but I am tired of the generic ovalized SUV EV shapes that all look similar which will suit her desire to be as high up as she is in the grand cherokee. My wife likes the more boxy Rivian, which is about the only other option now.

I have nostalgia for the VW microbus, as my family had one when I was a kid, so look fwd to seeing the new EV version on the road. I also wish the new '24 land cruiser was offered in full EV and not just hybrid, hopefully there will be more and better options in '25.

Personally, I wouldn't buy an EV until it came with a built in Tesla plug. I think most makers will have those included in 2025, but not 2024.
