His girlfriend must have gotten him a chinarello. You could always call him... I never seen someone's phone number in a listing before.

But maybe just maybe someone replaced the hubs to make the wheels shimano compatible?

Bora Ultra are 'triplett' spoking..I'd say the thing that's 'Bora' about these are the decals..the Pinarello probably isn't a real one either.

That e-bay seller probably meant to list those wheels as "bora-like", as in his wheels are round and have a black finish. Just like real Campagnolo Boras.

I was just going to note this.

Afaik, the rear wheel for Boras has only been manufactured with the "G3" spoke lacing. The Fulcrum Speeds, which have basically the same rims, have regular spacing. Three other things that are suspicious to me. Afaik, the front wheel for Boras has always had 18 spokes, not 20. Also, the rim shape looks more bulbous than on a Bora—the Boras have a relatively flat face if you look at them closely (who knows, maybe these are more aero than real Boras? ). Also, the decal placement is off. Campagnolo wheels typically have the decals placed so that the stem is at either TDC or BDC when "Campagnolo" and the wheel name are readable, i.e., with "Campagnolo" at the bottom.

My vote is for fake. As Ssalmon noted, does't bode well for the bike.

Not sure if he edited recently but the auction title now says "Replica" at the end, a much classier way of saying Fake.

I sent him a note on the bay asking him why he was selling fakes. I wonder if he made the change because of that?

Yeah that makes sense. Now if someone buys them and discovers they're fake, he is no longer liable or obligated to return their money because in the listing he states that they are "Replicas". Very sketchy.

He ended it early, and if you click "original listing" it says, "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing."

The 'error' was probably because Black Dog notified him that they're fakes.

At least the guy put the word replica in there. The easy way out if a buyer catch that the wheels arent real.
