No wonder my son wants to be a pilot.

I asked him to get through the first week of college first.

My son is a navy pilot. He graduated from Annapolis in 2007 and the blue angels performed for graduation as they do every year. They're incredible! The best of the best! I never get tired of watching those vids. Thanks OP.

Thanks OP. He flys the E2 Hawkeye, the radar plane. He really wanted to fly jets or Helios but when he graduated they needed Hawkeye pilots and now he loves it.

Thanks for that, Peter. Tight formation aerobatics in hardware like the F/A-18 takes lots of guts, practice, and concentration. You can tell they're having fun! Great video.

For those that don't know, Peter is a retired Navy F-4 driver.

Chicago Air Show

Was at Wrigley a few weeks ago and the Blue Angels were out practicing for the Chicago Air Show, that was to be 2 days later. Absolutely incredible to watch what they could do.
Granted the Cubs are, well, they're the Cubs...but still pretty amazing to watch 10 baseball players and a handful of Umpires stop what they're doing and watch the sky every 5-10 minutes in the middle of a game.

Know he flew F-14s.....given the timeline of his career, certainly could have flown both F-4s and 14s

It was my pleasure. Flew the Phantom(3 squadrons)and last seagoing squadron tour, the F-14.

Yup, I liked the F-4 show. More noise, smoke. F4 dirty roll on takeoff was eye watering. A-4 ehh? Too small. Hornet a good airshow aircraft.

Some of the comments on the video say that the video is of a passenger. I can't imagine that a trainer would fly in an actual air show-besides that guy looks looks to have the stick and knows exactly what to do in those high G turns-he's grunting and using valsalva breathing to keep from passing out. It's so impressive that they fly pulling maybe 8 g's without a suit. The couple times I flew and pulled 7 g's I had to work hard to keep from greying out with a g-suit.

So friggin cool to see that video. Thanks for posting.

Blue Angels performing over SF bay is just awesome.

I have also seen the Blue Angels long ago at the now closed Moffett Air field. This is the airbase where Obama lands and the blimp used to be housed.

The precision watching the pilots and crew come out and then get in the planes and take off was equally impressive - this is not seen anymore when they do fleet week shows over the bay

Here's another Blue Angels video-one shot shows the same pilot in your video

http://www.wimp.com/flightdemonstration/

Their ability is amazing. Haven't seen them for years and would love to again.

Yep, the guy talking and looking around isn't doing any of the flying. They do have a 2 holer(number 7) that sometimes subs for a broken jet, mostly used for PAO stuff tho. As capable as the single seat. Maybe the guy talking is either a VIP navy type or something. Pretty sure he is an aviator. The fact that he says anything over the radio surprises me unless this is a practice flight. Still cool. Another one about the Blue's in Phantoms "Threshold-the blue angels experience"...kinda of melodramatic at times but the flying is keen. Dirty roll on T/O....yowser.
