Any indoor climbers in the house? What do you wear for pants?
I used to climb like a monkey, and this particularly brutal winter has me thinking about getting back into it. I used to wear a pair of baggy cotton pants that were trimmed into 3/4 pants, but those are long dead. I don't want to wear shorts (I like my knees partially covered) and I don't want to wear the tight climbing pants that I see so many folks wear.
Any recommendations? Thx! |

You could treat yourself to some Outlier pants that you can wear in general, not just at the gym. I don't climb but I bike commute in them every day and they're much more comfortable than jeans when extending your range of motion beyond just walking around.

Carhartts, but I don't recommend them.

Not a climber but
I buy pants so rarely. In Houston, and in my job, can and do wear shorts for 95% of the days of the year.
But recently bought a pair of Levis 514 with 1% elastic denim. Wow! Jeans with so much freedom of movement. Bet you could climb in them. Andy |

I just bought a pair of these for climbing:

I usually wear tights due to unrestricted movement, but the gym i've been climbing in recently is hot as hell. My alternative is a pair of Prana pants with elastic draw string bottoms i can hike up over my calves. They are also quite hot.. but my gigantic calf radiators cool me down a bit.
If your into leg protection and want to look like a trendy boulderer look no further: https://organicclimbing.com/collecti...nt=28165320262 |

Well yeah....
Climbing in just a jock strap should work out great. Complete freedom of movement. |

I tend to climb in shorts but picked up some Prana pants for the days that it's cold and/or I just don't feel like wearing shorts. They are super comfortable and great stretch. Also spendy. Not sure I'd pay retail for them (or anything, tbh)

I've found my stretchy prana hiking pants are great, and also the Patagonia "performance denim" jeans are pretty great for not having to change after if it's just a quick session

As has been mentioned, Prana. It’s about the gusset in the crotch and the stretchy material.

My Prana pants were great but bit the dust.
The last couple times I’ve been I just wear some old baggie Levi’s with housepaint drips on them and roll them up to mid-calf. Completely dorky but I’m old enough that I don’t care.

I have a few pairs of Prana 3/4 or full length pants that would work nicely for climbing-but also work nicely for casual cycling and general life. I love them.
