White over Purple
Purple over White

Both very sweet!

A few well timed emails with Don helped to push me over the edge into buying this frame. Who knew that so much good could come out of a few well timed emails?

Gotta get you a new bottle cage or two, though, bro. That thing is asking for a King stainless or something like that.

The quick handling you describe reminds me of a Look 481 I used to own. It had a trail of 52mm and a shortish front-center for the 59 size frame compared to others I've had. It was like a race car, in that it didn't start to feel right until you got over 20-25 mph (well, for the race car, it would be more like 120...). Personally, it was too quick-handling for me, but it could be a hoot to ride, too.
I'm really hoping to get accurate numbers on this frame geometry one of these days. I keep trying to measure it myself, but I'm not entirely confident in my accuracy.

As for the bottle cages, well, I really have no good excuse.

I have some simple silver or black cages that are yours for the asking and the price of shipping. If you promise to ride the Alpine Loop at some point this season.

From one former Utah resident to a current one, and just so I can see that boy properly outfitted.

Let me know.

A most generous offer! PM sent!

As for the Alpine Loop--I'm lucky enough to live right at the base of Provo Canyon, so I get to spend more time than most up in that neighborhood. A few photos from riding last fall:

The tubes are still a mystery to me, though the ride is not. Quick and precise--confidence inspiring at speed. Lots of fun.

I'll be in CO later this fall, and hope to make time for an excursion to Rifle to find out more about the build. It's my understanding that Yamaguchi usually builds with his own mix of tubes. All of the tubes are shaped, though none quite so drastically as the top tube.

Geez. I love this bike. Let me know if you ever let this go.

Awesome build, silver spacer maybe? Silver headset? The only suggestions for absolute perfection.

Absolutely love this bike! It looks like you've put some serious miles on it too based on the saddle wear from your original post to now.

Funny you should mention tan tires . . . The silver bits may follow someday.

Thanks! I have been surprised by the wear on the Regal--no idea if this is typical, though I do put a not insignificant amount of miles on this bike each week. It's just so hard for me to think about riding a different bike when this one is sitting in the garage . . .
