I use the Brooks microfibre tape. Wasn't sure when I ordered it and didn't want to shell out the $ for leather if it wasn't gonna work. Feels great, terrific color match with the honey B17.

Who knew there were so many leather tape options? I think I'll try some HandleBra on my next bike (current bike is not worthy ). I wonder how well the white holds up/cleans up?
Another option is the Grand Bois tape sold by Compass Cycles (seamless). |

My Busyman stuff just arrived. I picked a perforated design with a contrasting color underneath. The tape was $155.

How much was the saddle?

It's good tape. Bontrager also makes a few leather look tapes that wear pretty well, but the colors are limited.

Just put on Brooks Cambium "cotton" bar wrap to match the Cambium C17 saddle. Both are "rust" color. (The Brooks Cambium rubber tape has no "rust" version.) It is thinner than regular tapes so you can see the contours of the underlying cables but that's no biggie. It's also so thin that it offers no cushioning if you want that sort of thing. The grippiness is better than the Brooks leather tape it replaced. (I thought Brooks leather tape became slippery once it worn in.)
The cotton Cambium tape was actually easy to wrap. The adhesive strip on the back lets the tape lay down nice, flat and snug as you wrap. Overall, it has a nice finish. I'm happy with it. (Excuse the garage bike space clutter.) |

That's not clutter. I can see the floor!
That tape looks great, though, h'mm. Might have to try that. If it were really hard as a rock, one could add a little cushion underneath, I'll bet. |

Thats not bad. The smps cost a lot more. Nice saddle tape combo!
Edit: not that much more actually after checking its just that it ads up 370 aud = 275 usd for the work + original cost of saddle + shipping both ways. Last edited by tuscanyswe; 05-29-2017 at 12:16 PM. |
