HELP: Anyone recognize this indoor storage rack?
Picked it up off craigslist as my dream 3 bike indoor solution. Can't figure it out to save my life. If I throw the top wheel in first the rear wheel sits too low and the top comes out. Looking for wisdom, thanks in advance.

Are you sure it is meant to be vertical like that? it looks like it might be part of a bike store display, as the second level of bikes, mounted to some support structure.

For the record I have no idea. It has wall mounting (or what I thought were) holes for vertical use.

Are you able to vertically stand the bike up?

I can stand one up, but the front tire is not tight enough to stay upright and it rotates back out of the upright position toward you.

Looks like a bike rack I've seen used in bike shops. The part you are using as legs screw into the wall and the bikes are stored horizontal, not vertical. You can line up bikes underneath or keep stuff. If you want to hang the bikes vertically, three hooks and some wall protectors for the tire marks and you're set.

Photo from seller showing how one of his friends is using the rack.
Luckily he is offering me a return tomorrow so I'll try and figure out my idea 3 bike storage solution soon. Studio apartment, 3 bikes, one with a disk and extra wheels. If only the HED's were solid carbon and not the fairing then I could just hang them like the other bike with alloy wheels. |

Tell him all your bikes have Presta tire valves, not Schraeder, so that mounting method won't work for you.

Concur with the others that it was probably a horizontal rock at some point. Could you somehow rig the top so that you could store your extra wheels there? It may still work for you.

Could you use it just how you have it, but lifted up off the ground? So the "legs" aren't rested on the ground, rather the whole thing is bolted to the wall a foot higher. That might solve the problem. Then again, with an apartment, you might not be able to bolt 100+ lbs. to the wall....

Returned this to the seller this weekend. Still looking for an all in one 3 bike solution and additional wheel set storage. Most likely going the DIY route this fall when I have more time.
