Fairlight Secan frame options

I’m going to order a Secan 2.5 frameset (in Plum color), which it says my size should be available late March.

I’m in a quandary on what I should do on the drivetrain option on the frame.
I will be initially running a 1x AXS drivetrain but will go to 2x AXS eventually.

I don’t *think* I’ll ever go mechanical or Di2…but I don’t know? Despite the minor displeasure of taking away the clean lines, should I opt for mechanical cable stops and Di2 holes?

My gut reaction is, forget mechanical and at least get Di2. Just in case. And Di2 holes would be fairly discreet.

Thoughts?

Include the stops, because they are free with the order. If you change your mind later on, you have to pay for the 3DP parts AND shipping them over here. The AXS option is just no stops, so you don't lose out on future opportunities.

But Di2 vs. mechanical up to you. Di2 will include the rubber port holes for the cords vs. just solid rubber covers. so that'll impact looks a wee bit. Lots of rubber covers on those frames!

I think having all the options on the bike helps with resale... if that's something that's of interest to you.

Does the newest "wireless" Di2 still need the port? If not, I'd just get mechanical.

When I bought my Secan there was no option to exclude anything.
If buying now, I would include everything because there is no downside.

Looking at the options again, it would be best to get the 2x mechanical - worst case you can drill/punch a tiny hole in the bung hole to make it Di2 compatible...won't really work the other way around!

Is the di2 vs other drivetrain accommodation just a different package of installed plastic mounts?
I thought all of the Fairlight frames where the same wrt braze-ons and holes, and only the plastic bits changed as a function of the intended build kit...if so, just order a second set of those bits to accommodate other drivetrain options.

As others said, I think it's always a good idea to add as many options as possible. I'm working on designing a frame right now (modeled after the Secan) and making similar decisions about internal wiring and Di2. You may change your mind later, but more importantly it will increase the resale appeal if it turns out not to be a good fit.

Upon more careful reading, it appears all options come with Di2 holes.

I certainly understand the resale factor for getting everything. I’ll have to weigh out if slightly better resale will be enough to make me look over the cable stops that will most likely not ever be used.
