I met BBDave at NAHBS Indy years ago, and we both sat at the same table when a bunch of us went to the same place for dinner, and I can report that Dave wasn't half as wild and crazy in person as his riding outfits and bike paint jobs had led me to expect...

And thar puts my mind more at ease.
Thanks

I’ll bet he was given a lot of space in any group ride.

I’m not a fan of matchy-matchy. More like what combination of colors go well together. I like that idea of gray or brown bar wrap.

Someone else made a comment about removing the orange spacers. I’d agree, because I like my steerer + stem to read as one, vs orange, black, orange.

To each their own tho.

Are the current orange lines on the frame a decal or paint? I had to research who made this bike, and realize it’s Serotta! Would you consider sourcing a Serotta decal for the down tube? It would break up the black frameset pretty well. If it was orange, that might be large enough swath of color + one smaller orange detail somewhere else.

Then I’d get rid of the orange cages and spacers, and go with that gray or brown bar wrap. That would look pretty “clean”.

The components are already black so I don't think you can overdo it.

The problem with orange is that there are so many shades of it that it could look mismatched if you're not careful.

this tape from Planet X but I tried similar fade on a bike and it always looked half-assed.
There's nothing half-assed about those orange highlight bib shorts...

The handlebar looks like something Blacksheep Bikes would make, but I checked their site (quickly) and didn't find anything.

This is what the currently offer: https://www.blacksheepbikes.com/shop...ory=Handlebars

The one piece bar is indeed by James at Black Sheep Cycles.

He also made the fork and front rack as well.

Titanium is a good canvas for color. I like two color combinations. My Bingham gets Chris King Matte Punch HS, which is a magenta/pink, and matching Phil Wood seat collar and Muc-off valves. The Specialized bottles are a pretty good match. Normally it has an Almsthre matching bar bag but this was D2R2 so I wanted more volume so it just had the black Orucase (and the extra water bottle). Contrast color is the Jagwire Pro SID Blue housings and Cinelli Wave Blue cork bar tape, and blue Growtac brake calipers.
