Serotta ATX for 24" wheels
being a proud father, I bought the best possible bike for my daughter and it was a Serotta ATX. I bought it used from a German seller.
Anyone has any information on it? Curious also to the year in which it was produced. Information is scarce on the net. Thanks all. ps. hope pic turns up ok |

I thought it was pretty awesome to have my kid ride the same bike as the dad. Am just trying to find more information about it. it is very scarce out there about this small ATX. /z |

Pretty sure that's a 1995 ATX. It was called the Colorado ATX in 1994, and had a different font decal in 1996. Not sure if it was offered in 1997, but by 1998 had been replaced by the CMS. 1995 catalog says they offered a 37 cm but doesn't mention 24" wheels. Size and model code should be in serial number. If serial number begins with a C, it's a custom. I have the same frame in another size and color.

that serotta is pretty cool. it looks as small as the 11" frame size specialized 24" mountain bike. |

I'm hoping for something lighter than the current 28-30 pound kids bikes. The Trailcraft bikes look about perfect but they have a big price tag.

My frame is a 48L, so too big.

https://www.diamondback.com/kids-bik...tain/sync-r-24 Stock, it weighs about 26 pounds, but you can drop about 2 pounds (and it will roll a little faster) simply by switching the Kenda Kinetics tires (about 800 grams each) out to some Schwalbe Rocket Rons. For the money, I don't know if there's a better deal on a kids bike. It comes with some basic Tektro hydraulic brakes, but the real nice thing about this bike is that it comes with the Sram NX drivetrain. It works beautifully and gives kids a ton of gear range with a simple 1x set up. Last edited by ofcounsel; 10-14-2017 at 07:10 PM. |
