Great pics throughout. What kind of bell do you have working there, joosttx?

Thanks. The bell is a spurcycle bell. Well made, crazy durable, nice sound.

That's sweet! How did you squeeze 650b into a 26er frame?

I love this! I did something similar with horizons in a 26er frame but with a way worse bike. This is so cool. Nicely done!

I'd bet the outside diameter and casing width of those tires are both much smaller than a knobby 26 x 2+" MTB tire.

Thanks, guys. You're correct...the diameter of the 650b x 47mm setup is about the same size as a 26 x 2.4" MTB tire. It's actually a touch larger, but with a narrower casing width. This diameter also roughly equates to a 700c x 32mm tire, so you could go that route, too. Aesthetically, I like the way the 650b tires fill up the frame/fork and the ride is absolutely plush. I've put some fenders on this bike for the winter and plan to run the tires at low pressure for some added traction once it gets sloppy.

Show me your gravelbikes....inspire me.

Got just a little stoned today...still a lightweight. The Davidson does easily clear 28c Conti tires on the H Plus Son Archetype rims. I think 30c would be fine too.

Did you ride the entire control road to Summerhaven? How were the last few miles on the gravel bike and what gearing are you running? I've done the 'squeeze the Lemmon' loop on a mountain bike but remember the last few miles on the dirt was a bit of a grind with mountain bike gearing.

Ah, I remember you were shopping, didn't know this was what you got. Congratulations!

Yeah, I'd try 30s in there, or different 28s that poof out bigger. Maybe Gravel Kings or Paselas?

(Or has this been your road bike all along and you just... rode off the pavement?)
