KMC x11sl Chain for 11sp campy opinions

Happy Monday Board members!

I'm tempted to try a KMC chain out of boredom and for the color options. For those who've tried them, what are your opinions?

Thanks!

I used the SL versions for in 10 and 11 speed setup on my Campy bikes. I think they are awesome, shifting is fantastic and comes with the quick links.

Also, I heard from my LBS that KMC makes the Shimano chains.

run the x10sl on my bikes - shimano
gf runs x10 on her bikes - campagnolo

both set ups are flawless. they also stretch less than O.E chains imo.
gold option is also a big seller for me

+1 on KMC SL Chains.

I use em on my campy 11 bikes. As the OP said they're pretty much flawless and they seem to last forever..

You wont regret the switch.

Jeebus, it's a 100% Canadian topic takeover. Sweet!

I don't like them.

Tried to use a gold one, it makes a lot of noise and feels the way a drivetrain feels when the B tension is too loose and the upper RD pulley is too close to the sprockets. Kind of a grindy vibration.

Tried a DLC version and a pin popped open randomly in the middle of nowhere and I was too dumb to have a chain tool with me.

Front shifting with Praxis rings was not great, chain kept wanting to fall off to the inside, despite having a K Edge type chain guard.

Happily back on Campy chains and am too annoyed to try KMC again.

Interesting. My KMC/105 bike shifts at least as smooth as my Athena bike with campy chain. Interestingly I swapped the rear cogs for ultegra and they seem to be a little smoother than the 105. I also have the KMC on praxis rings and never once had so much as a hiccup.

In my experience, the KMC chains wear faster than Campy chains, at least so far on my 10 speed set up. They are nice and light, but there's a pretty noticeable performance drop off once the chain stretches (around 2-2.5k miles ime) and it gets noisier too.

Ya might, release rear der cable, screw the barrel adjuster all the way in, re-attach der cable and re-adjust rear der. These barrel adjusters 'can' break when most of the way out, aren't cheap and unfortunately, some bike shops are too lazy to find and stock.

Plus big fan of KMC chains as well. When in the shop, carried KMC-pista, 8/9/10s KMC chains(no 11s at the time) along with Campagnolo 10/11s and shimano 10/11s. Far superior to sram and wipperman, IMHO and experience.

I'll do that the next time I work on the bike. The barrel adjuster was like this when it came out of the box, and I just put the cable in and fine tuned.

When advice comes from you, I'd be a fool not to listen. KMC chain it is!

X10sl on SRAM
X11sl on SRAM and Campy

No issues, great chains. Flawless shifting.
