Had those and felt they were over-rated. Not so supple.
Went back to IRC Boken Plus in 38. Will be putting 32s on my roadbike when I switch ties on it. Heavyish but roll, grip and last well. |

Boken makes such good tires. I had the Plus 32’s on an allroad bike and the Boken 40’s on a gravel bike. Yes, heavy; yes, grippy; yes, fast.

I have the evolution tubular 30mm and not sluggish. Also have 35 slick GKs with latex tubes, also not sluggish.

I have 32mm Gravel King slicks and do not feel they are sluggish at all. Same with 35mm Compass Extralights. Both tubeless. When I replace the Compass I'm not sure if I will go with GKs, RH, or something really cool I don't even know about.
I did have the precursor to the G One Speed, the Big One (60-622), and they were astonishingly light (~415g!), fast, and supple. Last edited by ColonelJLloyd; 02-23-2024 at 07:53 PM. |

I’m glad I’m not the only one to have this same experience. For being a slick and lightweight tire, mine were incredibly slow. To the point that I took them off and had my wheel bearings checked to see if I was missing something. Moved the tires to a different wheelset and they made those wheels slow as well.

G one speed in 30mm and 38mm setup tubeless were an average ride and not durable on rough pavement and paths.. Multiple rear punctures in a short period of time for me.

G-One Speeds used to be fast and then they changed the compound or something. The old ones tested well for rolling resistance, the new ones not so much. I'm not a fan of GK tires either and have used a variety of types and sizes.
For what you are looking for check out the Vittoria Corsa Next. The sizes you want, roll well enough, ride well enough, and are durable enough. I just did my first ride today with ENVE tires. I have the 29s and they sit close to 31mm on my wheels. They were great on the 12 miles of buff gravel and multiple sections of not so buff cinder in the bike lanes. |

Really appreciate all the responses.
What I’m looking for is a fast (and hopefully supple) tire that rolls well over crappy pavement. No dirt or gravel involved. |

I'm assuming this will be a tubeless setup? I'd totally go with the Vittoria Corsa Next. I've been really happy with mine. A 2 pack is $108 from Excel Sports.

I had the Next in 30c. They were excellent. Didn’t know they came in 34c. Vittoria Corsas are the fastest, most supple tires I’ve tried. Last edited by XXtwindad; 02-23-2024 at 10:10 PM. |

I am actually missing my Schwable 650b G1 speed x1.5, not available to buy, and keep looking for them.
Terrific durability-two tiny punctures in about 9000 miles other than one big nail. Would anyone believe my front tire lasted all those miles? Supple and really fun over many surfaces including broken payment & gravel such as it is in Palos Verdes. The different experiences of others probably reflect different versions & compounds. I knew nothing about bikes when I got mine, so Caletti picked the tires based on my desired riding. |

Link? I'm not seeing that price for the 700x34 tubeless ones.

Big fan of the speeds for a number of different applications. I’ve raced on them with an all around front (great combo) and currently have them on my gravel wheelset (40c) f/r. The ‘gravel’ in Dallas is disappearing so they get more road use and love em!
