You get 105* in September? Wow.

Yeah. Early to mid September is usually pretty hot and miserable.

Except over the Clinton residence, where the flakes are inside. Sorry. I couldn't resist.

Stocked up like Angry, last night.
A handle of Gin Four bottles of Diet Tonic Three limes Cinnamon rolls. Sent the wife and kids to my mother-in-laws (with a generator) and I will tough it out and shovel myself. And may, possibly, go into work tomorrow (3 miles)... if I do it in a car, on a bike, or on foot, is yet to be determined.

The Republic and Berkeley are brothers in arms. I'm fine with this.

Left work at 2, traffic was insane already. Working from home tomorrow...
Snow and crutches are a bad mix, almost fell twice and only had to walk like 10 steps. |

It took me 15 minutes to get out of the work parking lot. Once they sent out the message that all non essential employees are to work from home tomorrow they started running like rats.

I went for a run along the Greenway on the East River side over the 1230 hour. Then it was more sleet-like with the occasional strong wind gust. Not too bad even for 25F but the wind made it a PITA.
Now at 1630 it is snowing lightly in town. And most companies have prepared for working out-of-office tomorrow so unless there's big news, the markets should be quietly low-volume tomorrow too. So we'll just wait and see how much snow we get and how much hassle it makes to get through it. In prior years I enjoyed the exercise of shoveling the walks & the driveway of my house. This I no longer have to do now as an apartment dweller. But I miss it for the quiet sound of snow falling and the breath of exertion in concert together while marked by the inexorable swath created by a snow shovel. Blasio hinted to stay out of the NYC Parks because the heavy snow could cause a tree branch to fall on you. If they don't close Central Park I will go over there tonight with the dog. Central Park after it snows is beautiful, serene and deserted. Well...deserted relative to what is possible for Central Park. |

It's Matt, in Hanover, NH... "no snow here yet. Back to you in the studio."
"... Thanks for the update Matt! We'll be checking back in for updates through out this historic weather event"

Occasionally, it's felt exorable (300 foot driveway, 22 inches, heavy)..but it wasn't.
Our firm is putting up essential traders in a hotel in Boston tonight so they can walk to work. Most of us will be working from home. |

The last time we had a cataclysmic weather event the VPN melted down. This should be interesting.

Is there someone chaperoning them? Based on the traders I know, I'm thinking there's going to be quite the party at that hotel's bar tonight.
