700x23mm tires that run *narrow*
I know this is the opposite of what most forumites are looking for these days, but I have a frame on which I can only mount a fairly narrow tire in the rear. I know 25s are better for most applications. I use at least 25s on all my other road bikes and on the front of this bike. I can't do it here though.
I'm using an Archetype rim (non-negotiable) and so far have two data points: - Veloflex Master 700x23: fits - Schwalbe Ultremo DD 700x25: does not fit Masters are great tires but aren't tough enough for what I'm trying to do with this bike. I'm curious if anyone knows of tougher tires that are true 23s. I'm curious about Vittoria Rubino Pro Tech 3s, Schwalbe Ultremo DDs (the 25s are true to size, curious about the 23s), that sort of thing. |

Look for info on tire shape too because some tires listed as the same size may have similar volume but one (like Michelin) will be very round while others (Pasela) will be tall and narrow.

Had Rubino Pro's (700x23) and they measured true to size on 19mm rims.

My 23c gatorskins measure narrower than my GP4000s. On a 19mm rim they measure 22.8mm. I think that when I had them on 23mm rims, they measured out to 24.something.
