Hollowgram on BB386?
Hey all, potentially stupid question here.
I'd ideally like to install a Hollowgram SISL2 on a BB386 frame, which sounds dumb. But, as the spindle is not attached to either crank arm/spider, and they both use/allow 30mm bearings, in theory a longer spindle should make that happen, right? a) Please fill in the very obvious reason why that couldn't work, as I'm missing it and am dumb. b) There are several spindle lengths available for Hollowgram cranks, including for MTB. Which one could potentially work, if this is possible? How long would the spindle need to be, theoretically? Does anyone make a custom spindle that solves just this problem? WHY NOT? (I'm looking at you, Wheels Mfg.) c) Chainline, hmm. d) Please don't tell me to run an FSA crank. fcuk FSA. Thanks! |

Q factor would be wide and chainline would be off. MTB spindle might work, its 18mm wider, and BB386 is 18mm wider than BB30...

I'd love to resurrect this thread, maybe there have been some new developments on this front in 2016???

Q factor will still be wide, chainline will still be off.
