Warbird with fender mounts; that's neat. Not sure I dig the RLT-esque paint options.

New Salsa Bikes :)
They certainly have the whole log cabin north woods names sewed up.

I would dig a warbird. Is the El Mariachi gone?

The El Mariachi is on the website. Is it really gone?

I do not understand the need for these new models at all. Nearly all of Salsa's bikes are on closeout on QBP. They have plenty of inventory left over, and they blow it out for more new models, each with multiple color options! I don't get it.
Edit, yes the beloved El Mariachi is dead. The gold standard, benchmark of a bike, is dead. To be replaced by such atrocities! Last edited by JAGI410; 08-01-2016 at 10:51 PM. |

I actually like the new line. Timber jack looks sweet and really like the versatile 27.5+/29 set up. Fargo, Mukluk--all love the new changes!
Don't worry about the names. They're just names after all. |

I do have a light blue (the best color ) EL Mar from 2015. I do enjoy it.
I do like some of the new bikes though. Last edited by stephenmarklay; 08-02-2016 at 07:49 AM. |

My understanding is that QBP is sitting on a lot of bike inventory with its house brands, lots of competition and value from actual bike companies for all the niche bikes that have served QBP well over the years. Specialized alone has the diverge, sequoia, fuse, awol and a bunch of other things. Jamis and raliegh do pretty well with what they offer in the same niche. And there's plenty more with better value for the consumer and better terms for dealers. QBP has had a good run and certainly used some of their house brands to really change the market. The el mariachi will be missed
That being said, qbp has been good about having pieces and parts in stock as compared to J and B and Hawley. Those 2 have been terrible this year, hard to place an order with them for odds and ends. I hope the bike thing doesn't crush QBP, it's been a tough year in the biz for some |

I'd like to know if they are going to produce enough carbon Firestarter forks to supply the aftermarket demand. Better yet a version that fits 29x3.0.

I think I saw that the 2017 Fargo will support 29x3.0. Supply is still another matter...

I get what they are doing with the Woodsmoke but man is it hideous.
