Does Size Matter?

Was at an LBS yesterday test riding N+1. My wife was inside and struck up a conversation with a couple waiting on the husband's repair. He asked what size bike I was testing. Now, my wife doesn't ride and couldn't care less about such trivia, but we had just come from a test ride at another store, so she heard me mention size 56. The guy proudly told her that he was a 61. Is this a new measure of manliness? (BTW, my hands aren't small).

^^sounds like it.

Smaller frames are generally lighter and stiffer, so that weirdo can suck it.

Bravo, bravo. This guy, Mr. 61 is truly a man to admire. He wins for the greatest use of roundabout reasoning to, in the most demure of double entendres, make a pass at the ever lovely Mrs. 2LeftCleats.

This type of suave is extraordinary in the bike shop environ. The only downfall is Mr. 61 doesn't know nor ever intended to make a pass. That tells everything you need to know about the cycling mileau.

I thought the wankers were the ones behind the counter and the weeners were the ones that wanked, or is it the other way around?

The 56 and the 61 cost the same, so the 61 is the better value.

Only proper size for a road bike is 56.

I know this is thread is all tongue-in-cheek, but still... is it possible the guy was a few cm taller than @2LeftCleats?

Perhaps I should change my handle to wetblanket or partypooper?

Yep, he's taller. Not questioning he rides a bigger frame. Just surprised/amused at the tone of superiority.
