dt 240 hubs laced 28 or 32 to whatever.
Ime, the build quality is more important than the specific rim in terms of staying true

Have you gone fatter on the tires as is trendy or are you sporting 19mm at 140PSI!

Actually that is a serious question. I am wondering how much rim with impacts the handling on say a fat 25mm with an OP.

Question: Is a HED Belgium as durable as a H Plus Son Archetype for a low spoke count wheel?

I've had excellent results recommending and building Hed rims.

It's been a long time since I rode 20mm tires. I weighed a lot less back then.

I ride tires in the 25-32mm range on Open Pros. I can't say they feel much different from wider rims, e.g., Velocity Synergy. Open Pros aren't trendy any more, but they still build into a solid, reliable, fairly light wheel.

Op, if you haven't settled on a wheelset yet, I'd recommnend Campy Shamals with the new wider rim. I just got a pair and they are awesome. I just did a training race on them, and I'm thinking about dumping my 50mm carbon race wheels. I've had Shamals and Eurus in the past, and they are virtually indestructible.

My personal answer has long been DT 240s hubs with whatever DT's current low profile 28-hole alloy clincher rim is (they keep changing model #s on me! Last set I got was R440) and DT spokes.

But last year I had my wife's backup bike refurbished as a birthday present, so the guys at Signature built [edit: 32]-hole R440 rims laced to Shimano 105 hubs, and it is a killer wheelset for not too much money.

This is arbitrary as all get out, but I find the G3 lacing hugely unattractive.

Lots of good suggestions already -- here's what I'd go for if you're OK with prebuilt: http://www.velomine.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=3249

Ultegra 11sp hubs, Archetype hard ano, and only $289.00

Just curious.. Lots of recs for DT240 hubs. People prefer these over campy record? Or is this because most people are running Shimano?

oldpotatoe built me a set of H+Sons Archetype with Sapim Race spokes and Ultegra hubs, 32h. Love them for training/light touring wheels. With 28mm Continental GP 4000s they are nice to look at and smooth riding.

I still have the 'fast' wheels for when I want to go lighter and faster, but for everyday wheels they are great.

Thanks Peter for the nice wheelset, they get lots of compliments on the club rides too!

I really enjoy my wheels built up with WI T11, either Archetypes or TB14s, with Wheelsmith spokes. Strong, never go out of true, and the tension is very consistent throughout.

Dynamo hub with SV-8 is also rock solid. Same specs for the rims and spokes.

For the record, this has *not* helped my decision making process. Though I may want to wait for the frame anyway to see what will go best.
