Do you sew up the holes in your socks?

I have quite a number of (DeFeet) socks with a hole in the toes.
Everything else is fine, even the ankle cuff elasticity.
I asked DeFeet years ago if the socks themselves are recyclable since they are made from recycled plastic fibers but they said no.

Just seems a shame to add a bunch of socks to landfill.
