Super clean simple bikes

I really like the firefly 471. Clean, simple, integrated. Maybe less ano designs and a direct mount chainring, but otherwise it is really interesting.

I think the aero brake mounting helps a lot, those seat stays look great.

You guys have any pics of bikes you think look especially clean, well organized, etc?

I think for gears and discs this looks nice, less wheel logos maybe.

Hard to streamline a rando, this one looks amazing in real life and also amazing in photos IMHO

I met this guy at the coffee shop recently, really cool bicycle, it's a modified steam roller

In that vein, I always thought Ezra Caldwell/Fast Boy's Thunderf*cker 5 was about as clean as it gets:

His aesthetic in general was super clean:

That is one sad looking randonneuring bike. The fresh tire sprue nubs scream....ride me in the rain, ice, mud, sand but RIDE ME. The saddle looks virginal, too.

happy, i had the distinct pleasure of meeting him one morning while riding down 5th ave., coming home from early a.m. ride over the gwb.

great conversation, such a super nice guy. we talked about his bike, because as he caught up with me at a light i said wow what a rig, it was beautiful. and thus began a 10 minute chat as we headed down the ave.

rip, ezra.

I'm a big an of anything one solid color and of course the classic blank Titanium frame with black fork. Speedvagen's Urban Racer does it for me though.

the allure of the single speed is strong, one thing i like about the firefly is that it has a lot of the single speed streamlined look while still being a nice all around useful bicycle (I can't ride a single speed for big distances so I am stuck with gears).

Regarding bike 471 up there:

The bottom mounted rear brake definitely helps clean up the lines. I'm a little surprised more folks don't request that on custom builds. However, I do see the hassle with service and adjustments.

Is it just me, or is my impression of how 'clean/simple' a bike is, strongly influenced by the background of the photograph?

This Hunter has always struck me as "clean." I don't know why it does, but I suspect the light, washed out color is part of it. Also, I think the spare lines of the fork and the seatstays keep it simple.

well, it is certainly part of it, however some bicycles are still certainly more streamlined than others.

no background will help this bicycle-

This is about as clean as I got:

A road bike without water bottle, frame pump, and tool kit looks incomplete to me.
