I'm a fan of the Specialized Rib Cage II. I like the aesthetic and I've found them to be very secure.

Nitto R, my favorite fancy cage, otherwise King SS/Ti.

I added an extra x, my bad. It's the Mxxxxxo LOL

Originally it was called the Marcelo, but x's have been substituted in recent years

These are by far the most elegant cages to my eye for a nice road bike. King's for MTB's.

Blackburn makes a nice Ti cage too.

Have a pair on my Spirit-tubed bike

+ 100.

Arundel all the way. CF on two bikes. SS on steel bike with silver components.

For carbon I like the bontrager RL cages but I really think they only look good on carbon race road bikes.

I like the Blackburn Chicane on my CSI. I thought the King ti looked kind of clunky on a lugged steel frame. Bottle goes in and out smoothly, too.

Steel bike, I'd agree that any King cage would be great.

You did say "metal" bike, and I'll have to depart there. I've had an aluminum and a titanium bike with Arundels, and they looked great. I definitely think that ti or aluminum bikes can take either King or carbon cages.

That said, my weight weenie days are over, and it's all King cages from here on out. The exception may be if I get back into road racing (very unlikely) and get an aero carbon bike. I don't see being able to splurge for one, but I'd do Arundels if I could afford them.

Unique. Not sure how well they hold a bottle.

Although I agree with the King/Arundel/Nitto comments, for a 1980-1995 vintage steel bike, Elite Cuisi does it for me.
