So, you're not sure they are fake? Or, if you are sure, how can you tell?

Fakes have internal cable routing for the rear derailuer on the chainstay. Real ones have a stop on the chainstay and the cable runs under the stay.

Smooth BB shells, Instead of the far superior Italian threading?

Just being facetious. I'm certain they're not authorized.

And as Cicli mentions, the C60 has a removable cable guide/stop under the chainstay for mechanical routing. For electronic, the wire exits from the dropout.

Those fakes were so much better than the first C60 counterfeits. And light years ahead of the early counterfeit C59s which were obviously not lugged.

Things to look for

To recap.

Obvious issues from most egregious to subtle

1. BB386 shell. C60's have an aluminum insert into which two cups thread in. They call it ThreadFit82.5 which essentially means the system is BB86.

2. Bad paint on the red one and a blue logo on the white one. The authentic red one should have bright gold and not yellow accents. The authentic white one has a black Colnago on the DT.

3. Wire/cable port on top of the DS chainstay. C60s have a removable stop/guide for mechanical and on electronic the wire is routed through the DS chainstay, exiting at the dropout.

(Removable guide)

(goes here)

4. Two charging ports under the DT. C60 has a single charging port for Campagnolo EPS.

5. No serial number decals, which are prominently located just below the charging port, shown in ad. C59 has serial number etched inside rear NDS dropout.

6. Chainstays are curved and less "beefy."

7. Top tube tapers more than geometric, clover shaped C60.

Correct?

I've been examining every inch of my C60 since the the first post.

This place is awesome. The fact that people will purposely screw others makes my blood boil. Glad folks here are so knowledgeable and can sniff these jerks out. Until they dupe someone else!!

Some seller highlight photos that key in on "I'm a REAL C60 Frame"

Those listings highlight a few other things to look for. C59/C60 forks have aluminum dropouts which are more obviously alu on new forks as they darken with grit and use. Rear dropouts are also aluminum.

On the counterfeits, it wasn't obvious if the front derailleur hanger had the stamped Colnago Clover. The fake C60s I've seen did not have the more elaborate hanger. These guys are trying harder.

Are they really trying to fool anyone besides the riders that the buyer rides with? I would assume that people buying most of these fakes know they are imitations, else the seller would be flooded with returns and/or payment venue problems.

Are these lug-style frames really lugged at all, or are the lug features simply being molded into a monocoque frame? I suspect the latter.

The color schemes shown mostly appear odd, not even offered by Colnago(?)

I'm thinking that I want one, to go alongside my more endurance-oriented, (and genuine) $1k CX-Zero. I'll first have to consider the risks and ethical considerations of it all, also try to find out how long that the seller has been supplying such frames and how well that they are established as durable and defect-free.
