Thanks Cicli pal, sorry for the crappy pics, it's already dark outside. Will try to post some daylight pics soon but more importantly take it for a test ride, probably won't be tomorrow because the weather forecast says we gonna have our first freeze of the year tonight!

One of the sweeter LHTs I've seen.
I would have made the same choice for tires, unless I was riding 100% gravel. Then it would have been Bruce Gordon RnRs. Please keep us up to speed on your happiness ratio. |

Weisan-pal,
Get any new pics? Did you get to ride around the block yet? :-) Daniel

Not yet, even though the rain has stopped but the wind has picked up and the temperature has dropped overnight into the 30s...

I couldn't wait any longer, cold weather be damned, took the trucker out for a slow spin around the neighborhood with its new shoes...
How do I describe the ride...hmmmm? It feels a bit like... and the fact that it puts a pathetic bike handler like myself in a good mood, definitely encourages irresponsible behavior such as... It's silly fun to ride...the only problem is without any load, the whole bike weighs close to 30 pounds soaking wet, which is no fault of the Switchback tires, the trucker is built like a tank. |

Colonel pal, I can appreciate where you are coming from.
I think there's a place for the LHT. See I never want to put the blame on inanimate objects, things that can't talk back or have any feelings. They are tools. It's my job to pick the right tool for the intended usage or purpose. I just got back from riding the trucker for about 30 miles in the local trails and bike paths. The roads were wet and full of debris and the weather conditions were still relatively miserable with strong winds. I was on my way to join my pals for a group ride but decided to turn around after less than 2 miles from the house because of the dreary conditions. After I got home, I decided to swap bike and hit the trails on the trucker. Oh man, it was so much fun. Those compass switchback hills tires really do transform the ride, it's like gliding over the surface. I didn't bring my computer, wasn't particularly concerned about my distance or average speed, just happy to be out there in the open and enjoying a nice solo cushy ride. It was just what I needed. Thank you Trucker! |

As a former lht owner I can attest to the fun ride it provides. You may not be keeping up with the group on it, but it's great for all its intended purposes. I bet it's even better with those switchback hills
