Piece of 2x4 with two wood blocks and 3 drywall screws make a good dish tool.

Cool homemade dishing tool! Pretty simple tool to build if you have the right tools, which admittedly is a bit of a catch-22.

I've always had Steve at Excel Sports Boulder build all my wheels. I ship the hoops and hubsets to them/him with instructions (lace 3x, silver double butted spokes, silver (brass) nips). They've done dozens for me over the years. Reasonable charges and shipping, quick turn-around.
