Fire in Boulder Canyon
Anybody around the 'republic' already knows about this if ya went outside. Sure screws up the AM bike ride.

Seems early (wet) in the year for this... isn't there snow cover in Sunshine canyon still?

No snow for weeks. High fire danger for at least the last two. Supposed to hit 80+ in the valley today. Not our usual spring.

Yep. No running today. Hope the folks in the canyons are safe and homes intact.

We had maybe a total of 4 weeks of what I would call "winter" during DJFM here in Boulder county. As a point of reference, I've done 104K ft of climbing since the start of the year, with a 4K ride yesterday on the peak-to-peak - the earliest in the year I've ever been up there (while my last peak-to-peak ride on Nov 30 of last year was the latest in the season I'd ever been up there). This is all great until the fires start, which then make it unhealthy to ride, as OP alluded to.

It's gonna be a BRUTAL fire season in the interior West. Might be bad in CA, too. We have to make it through mudslide season before we'll know for sure.
