Marinoni Puts Down The Torch

For (another) Hour Record Ride. Think of what he could do on carbon!

The article also mentions the documentary film "Marinoni - The Fire In The Frame".

This is great...and local for me. I defiantly want to attend.

what's really cool about the last one and I'm guessing this attempt as well is that he is riding the frame he built for Jocelyn Lovell. He won many gold medals at the Commonwealth games and other events on that frame.

If I wanted a real steel race bike, I'd get one of his Piumas. Such a deal on a great frame.

What a hero.

Have to have a Marinoni at some point. Suppose sooner might be better

I saw last week on the website that the lugged Retro frame is not being made in 2017, which made me wonder if he had retired. Others do the welding, but he was still doing the brazing on the resurrected lugged frames personally.

I have been wondering about a build with one of these for a while now.

The movie is fantastic, he's such a character!
Thanks for sharing this OP, I didn't hear about this next attempt. I'm back in T.O. for a wedding the week before, maybe I can stick around and make it to Milton for this! Cheers!

I ordered a frame and fork from Marinoni in November last year.

It was delivered to me in the first week of January. It is absolutely lovely.

I ordered the "Retro SL" with longer stays, to let me fit mudguards.

The bike is absolutely lovely. Could not be happier.

I may have to buy another .........
