Another vote for Cool Hand Luke

"what we have is a failure to communicate" > Cool Hand Luke
> and Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" > epic flying machines
> The Blue Max > George Peppard as the German flying ace and Ursula Andress, told from the German side (1966)

Detour (1945)
Watched this morning, low budget noir, fun to watch

Yes! This is the other one I have been thinking about and put in my buy queue.

I guess it must be the BOC I have been listening to lately.

"Strategic Air Command" with Jimmy Stewart and June Allyson. Not a great movie, more an Air Force recruiting film than anything else. But the B-36 and B-47 scenes, all in color, were simply amazing. If you love airplanes, you'll love this film.

yah, watched that today too...badly-acted, but Ann Savage's portrayal of Vera was oddly mesmerizing.

she was apparently quite a character off-screen as well.

I've been doing a Hitchcock marathon recently (especially the soundtracks).

And Gene Tierney in "Laura". One of the great all time beauties of American cinema.

"Strange Days" Cathryn Bigelow
