Zero 100 classic bend?!
Not sure if it has been mentioned, but I see that Deda is selling Zero 100 bars in both shallow and deep classic bend.
Finally an update for retro grouches! |

They're the old Newtons they've had around for years. At some point they relabelled them as Zero100. Great bars whatever the label, though.

Zero 100
Are they exact old ones?
Or old shape with newer tubing? |

You can still get the Newton's and they're labeled as such, but the shape of the deep and shallow Zero 100's sure looks like the old Newton's. The Zero 100 RHM bars are now the shallow drop/short reach bars.

I rode Newton Shallows for years. At one point I ordered another Newton Shallow bar and Zero100 Shallows showed up. I couldn't tell a difference between them. And Deda now lists the Newton on the Zero100 page in their catalog as just one of the options:

I'm pretty sure they are no longer currently producing bars under the Newton model name. What they have is just a bunch of old stock bars in that name. The Zero100 model name line replaces the Newton one. The bars are the same as far as their "deep" and "shallow" designations.

Seems like some of the confusion is that they made both an ergo/anatomic bend and a round bend bar under the Newton name (and the 215, for that matter, in 26.0).
The Zero 100 "Shallow" and "Deep" models correspond to the previous Newton round bend shapes, whereas the Zero 100 "Newton" bar is that ergo/anatomic shape. |
