Nice.

Mike just confirmed my order on a black 58 cm Monstercross.

I just couldn't resist.

I'll be moving over most of the bits from my Merckx AluCross.....

Cool, I moved most of my parts from the Soma Stanyan (except brakes) over to the MC. Though I'll probably switch out the Sugino compact road triple for mountain triple (44-32-22) since I'll be doing more off road.

What 10 hours in the mud and nearly 100 creek/river/stream crossings looks like.

I am a little tired of mud.

She's beautiful! I would love to have one with couplers for my gravel/travel bike. Enjoy her for the rest of us!

Just finished building this up. Maiden voyage was last week, out in the Texas Hill Country. This was one of 6 low water crossings that day.

Oh mine, six crossings?
Is that what I have to look forward to if I decided to do the Hill Country Hell Week in a month or so?

Probably not, unless we get more rain. The stream I was crossing back and forth over was swollen from recent rain. With that said, the low water crossings can be tricky. Guaranteed to be covered in algae and slippery. One friend broke an arm, another a hip trying to ride across- waters usually only inches deep. Un-clip and waddle across or walk.

Thanks for the tip, Clancy pal.

I will be riding mostly on the road but I am taking a gravel bike along to ride some trails inside the campgroup (Oxford Ranch) and around that area, probably this one that I am in the process of re-configuring...

Replace...
the 700cc rim brake wheels with a set of 650b disc wheels that I just built
Bruce Gordon RockNRoad with WTB Horizons (Thanks TurboNate pal!)
Butterfly bar with regular drop bar
MTB rapidfire with 9spd STI
MTB Avid BB7 with Road Avid BB7 (Thanks Kirk007 pal!)
