The abbey was my first choice but I figured there would be a cheap substitution to the free insert... glad to see that the birzman exists but makes no sense for half the price of the socket.

Total understand. $18 for the Birzman adapter or $40 abbey socket. To get the free plastic Shimano adapter you do have buy bottom bracket for roughly $30-50. Between the birzman and this park tool socket Ive got all Shimano external cup thread bottom bracket covered. The adapter nests inside my park tool socket so less space in my tool box too. That was my justification to my self lol.

As far as actual tools with a handle go to work on the BBR60, will BBT-9 work? Park site says yes, but at this point with all these standards, its easier to ask.

The BBT-9 will not work by itself on the bbr60. You will need to use the shimano plastic adapter, birzman adapter or similar one made by anyone else. The spline diameter is smaller on the bbr60 and even smaller on the dura-ace variety.

A tool with a handle that I've used and do like is the Feedback Sports bottom bracket wrench.

You still need to the shimano plastic adapter in your case, but it works great on the more common sized external cup bottom brackets, cassette lock rings, both (internal and external) type of disc rotor lock rings.

Been too long since anyone’s posted… Here are some Cyclus tools that arrived in the last month. Beautiful quality!

I rearranged my 2 rolling tool chests last weekend so tools most often used are easiest to access, bike tools are with/near other bike tools, etc. Been wanting to do it for a couple years.

Of course the end result is that it now takes 3-4 times as long to find anything.
