DA9100 RD Housing and Big Feet

Anyone else having issues with their heel hitting the RD housing? I've got 41cm chainstays, 175mm cranks, and size 49 feet. The way the housing enters the RD pushes the loop out into the path of my heel, and I've never been one to hit my heels on the chainstays, if anything I ride a bit pigeon-toed. It's worst when in the lower cogs. And I think my housing length is appropriate. Hmm...

I've definitely noticed is sticks out a bit further than older derailleurs, but not to the point of hitting it...although I'm only size 46.

I do think you can get away with trimming the housing a bit more, Shimano is typically more forgiving of that.

Your housing does look a little long to my eye as well

I'll try trimming a bit and report back.

You can also loosely zip tie it to the seatstay to keep it tucked against the frame. I keep mine loose enough so that I can slide the housing in/out if necessary.

I say it's definitely longer housing with what you can get away with, with a 9100 rd. I cut my housing and it almost looks like di2 cables. I've direct mounted the rd so I'm not sure if that'll make a difference with housing length - doubt that it does.

looks something like this...

Get a CAAD12

or

cut and double check to make sure you have the correct housing (appears that you do). Should have shipped with the RD, unless you picked it up from Giggles, Wigged Out or Gandalf in the UK.
