The fab work really is incredible. It's so interesting to show people this bike and see what kind of reactions they have. Oftentimes they don't really even get it, which is fine. But then you get the right person who puts it together, and the look on their face is fantastic.

The Fabric Scoop Flat Pro came in a little heavier than advertised. According to Cannondale, the saddle weighs 176, though mine came in at 185. Still considerable savings over the saddle previously on the bike.

I think this is one of the cooler projects i've seen on here. It looks like a really fun ride. Belt drive fixed commuter is on my wish list.

I really want a fixed belt drive, too. Would be interested in modifying something else to that end sometime in the future.

I swapped out the Cannondale carbon cages I'd had on the bike for a set of the Fabric Cageless system. Some studs that a special bottle mates up with. Dropped roughly 50 entire grams there.


Original cage weights, with KCNC bottle bolts.


The fabric studs with the KCNC bolts - which I wound up not being able to use as they weren't quite long enough. Bolts with the fabric system were ~1g heavier for a pair than the KCNC bolts


Installed on the bike


I used small circles I cut out of red electrical tape to cover the hole on the frame instead of using the other set of supplied bottle studs. (each fabric bottle comes with four studs, meaning you'll always have significantly more studs than bottles)


I also acetone'd off the logos on my Cannondale C1 bar, didn't save any weight, but I think it looks nicer!

Down to 5.82kg now!

Im sure that a belt drive system is quiet, but honestly, with the exception of my King Hubs, my Shimano 9 speed is very quiet (assuming proper adjustment) and my Sram 10 speed is very quiet as well. I would never say that they were in anyway a distraction, to me, a bigger distraction is the wind whistling in my ears on a windy day.

They're dead 7970 shifters (ie not etube) so they won't play with anything but 7970 bits.

54cm frame, made from a 2014 SuperSix Evo. I'll compile more information and post in the classifieds later tonight.
