New Bike From SaltAir Bicycles in SLC

Hey everyone,

I'm new around here, but thought this would be an appropriate place to show my new bike from a small local builder in Salt Lake named SaltAir. I placed my deposit this Spring and took delivery of it last week. I wanted a bike with similar geometry to my SuperSix Evo, but with the ability to fit some fatter tires.

The bike is a mix of Columbus Life and True Temper S3 tubing, fillet brazed, 44mm head tube, English BB. Stainless dropouts and brake bridge. ENVE fork, seat post, stem, and handlebars, Chris King headset, Pacenti rims and White Industry hubs built up by November Bicycles. I have some King cages that I need to swap out for the cages in the photos. I'm coming from Di2 back to mechanical, and I can't say I miss the Di2 all that much. This new DA 9100 is incredible stuff.

Spectrum in Boulder handled the powder/paint job, and matched the Silca pump as well.

I wasn't totally sure what to expect with a steel bike, but I have to say after an inaugural 105 mile ride, I was supremely impressed with the road feel of this bike.

Matt at SaltAir was incredibly patient and provided excellent ideas and feedback as we worked through the entire process. It was a fun experience for my first custom bike.

Salt Air? Better make sure to apply plenty of corrosion inhibitor!

Kidding aside, really nice bike, looks very well executed. Welcome to the forum and hope you stick around to share more. Enjoy that new machine!

Love the hits of red on the headset and pump. Frame color is very nice and the new DA looks great.

Wish for a different stem (I am an enve stem hater). Its killer altogether though.

Thanks! Yeah, he said his supplier was just about out of the remaining stock. Glad I was able to get some!

Fantastic! I was so impressed with his work at the last NAHBS--we talked for a long time.

That is just a beautiful build.

Also--glad to see the Paceline presence on the wasatch front increase by another person! Welcome!

Thanks for the kind words! I was already toying with having him build a bike for me, but the purple road racer he had on display at NAHBS really sealed the deal for me. What a stunner.

Glad to be here reppin' Utah!
