Greenville SC ride recommendations?
Will be down from Asheville with about 4 hours give or take to kill during kid#1's appointment and hoping to use the time to ride.
Any route recommendations from folks familiar? Most of what I can find online looks like driving for a bit out of the city and hoping to not drive too far to max time on the road. many thanks in advance. |

Here ya go. If you’re looking for a shorter route, just do the eastern half of this. The start (which is kinda in the center of the route) is just off the Swamp Rabbit trail, which is a rail trail that runs from Greenville to Traveler’s Rest.

I am in Travelers Rest. You can search for WBL or SSWBL lots of these winter bike league rides start in downtown TR. Maybe a 15-minute drive from downtown Greenville.

Lots of route out of there. Tuesday night worlds and ride of all sorts roll from the Greenville Spinners parking lot. Pretty quiet roads. https://ridewithgps.com/trips/137867102 https://ridewithgps.com/trips/135932479 |

Great area to ride. My team used to do our Spring training camp down there.
If all you have is 4 hours then check out Paris Mountain where the US National Road Championship races were held in the oughts. If you like even more climbing then check out the Ceasers Head loop. You may have to drive to that one though for time. Both routes can be seen here: https://www.komoot.com/guide/1812257...enville-county |
