Shimano BR-1050 SLR brakeset

Anyone with firsthand experience with these calipers? Ended up with a pair (39-49mm reach) and it appears as though they are made to work with the corresponding BL-1050 levers. Something about a lighter spring in the caliper, and brake levers having a second set of springs built in. Unfortunately, I have no such 105 levers (1050 std/1051 aero).

Will they work with a standard road lever, or not so much?

Very clean, very good condition; hoping they fit my son's old steel Fuji as we go from 27" to 700c hoops this weekend. If too short and someone had the longer reach version (47-57) (and needed these shorter reach dudes), I might consider a trade.

I have used these brakes with a variety of different levers. They have proven to be fine in all cases. Off the top of my head I've used these:
600 tri color
6207 levers
7400 levers
cheap tektro bmx style lever (this has given them the most power sending my wife OTB)

Thanks. Have some perfectly fine Suntour aero levers I figured we could mount and try without too much effort. Reach to the 700c wheel is going to be borderline. But as much work as I put into resurrecting this thing from a stuck seatpost, I just can't bring myself to put it in the trash heap (even though son longs for a modern ride).
