Kevin Reza Picks up a Helmet Cam from the side of the road
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-QQjz0EchQ
Knocked out of the owners hand by a Lotto rider, and Reza is able to pick it up at speed in the peloton. Also, note that Chris Horner really seems to approve of this. |

Doing a wheelie across the line all of a sudden seems less impressive.
Wow. And quite an inside look at the tour... if this turns out to be a gopro commercial, I'll be pissed. But still impressed.

I remember some of my learn to race training included picking up your water bottle on the ground as you rode by at about 3 km/hr. On grass. So I'm pretty impressed with this even though it's obviously not final sprint speed.

That's a riot. Best onboard footage I've seen.

What I want to know is how the original owner got his helmet cam back?

They contacted Reza on twitter and he mailed it back to them.

I actually went on my bike and tried to pick something off the ground up at 10 miles an hour, tops. Didn't work. How he did it is beyond me..

It's a great look in to what the guys in the back of the peloton probably do most of the time to stay entertained.

I can pick up a water bottle off the ground at 15mph. I can't imagine picking up a Contour Roam 2 at 30mph.

It was attached to a helmet, you can see the buckle. So a little easier to pick up.

My wife was working at a training camp with juniors where the coaches threw quarters on the ground and made the guys pick them up while riding, which they were able to do. After she told me that I tried and couldn't get anywhere close at all.
