Question--what do you do with odd tires?

You know--the ones that are worn, but too good to throw away?

The odd ones that came with those wheels/bike you absolutely had to have?

Interested in what folks are doing with these.

I've sold some and I relegate other to indoor trainer or roller use.

I end up using them at some point probably. One road bike has two left overs on it right now. Mismatched to boot! When these wear out I have four pairs of new ones for this and my other bikes.

They're sitting in my room taking space. Not sure I'll ever get to them.

I struggle with this as well. I keep most of them, with the intent of using them on the trainer eventually. At this point I have enough old tires to accommodate trainer rides until I am 150 years old.

I keep them for my sons and their friends when they need tires for their campus bikes.

If you won't use them, donate them.

I wait until I have a bunch of stuff and donate it all to a local non profit shop that does some good work in the cycling community.

They hang around here and there. I know I'll need them one day!

Most of my odd tires are old tubulars. If they are good enough, I use them as spares on one of my bikes (almost all of which take tubulars). I doubt I'll ride through the winter this year, so might have to break out the trainer (ugh). There another use. If not used, they sit in a pile in my basement until I procrastinate long enough, then chuck a few, reducing, but never completely eliminating, the pile. That's the way the world works, at least in my universe.
