Should be noted that only one of the 14 was an aircraft malfunction(fire). The rest were pilot error. Blues pilots are great pilots but they are mostly great formation and airshow pilots..the midairs were mostly 'bumps'..where they came together in a really minor way..and didn't kill the aircraft. not uncommon at all.

Yet another similarity to bike racing - lots of bumps, but mostly without consequence! Thanks for weighing in with your naval aviation experience. I enjoy the flying anecdotes shared on this forum every bit as much as the cycling wisdom!
