Strava Premium will pay you if your smartphone breaks while cycling

All these perks are free with Strava Premium.

http://strava.sundaysinsurance.com/

Quote:
Device Damage
If you crash your bicycle and damage your device while tracking your Strava activity, we will reimburse you up to USD 600, GBP 350 or AUD 800 for the repair or replacement cost of the damaged device.

Taxi Fare
As a Strava Premium Member, getting home if your bike breaks down needs not cost you anything. Recover cab fares paid of up to USD 50, GBP 30 or AUD 65.

Run Entry Fee
Unexpected things do happen. That is why we will reimburse you up to USD 100, GBP 75 or AUD 120 of your running event entry fee if you miss the event because of an acute injury or illness.
For anyone interested in reading the fine print: http://strava.sundaysinsurance.com/S...Strava_USA.pdf.

The way I read it I have to be using Strava on phone while riding rather than using a Garmin device. Am I wrong?

not available in NY anyways.

some questionable things too as, you won't get a penny if the device is 2 years old or more. As long as the device still works, then they won't reimburse you (dents, scratches, ect).

and also, yeah this is only for strava phone it seems because it says you have to be logged into the platform.

too bad because I do have premium.

DC rainmaker has a blog post about it. Lots of info on the fine print, etc.

After reading the DC post it seems like more of a gimmick than an actual worthwhile benefit.

This is how i see it, if you alrrady have premium, its great sonce you are payig the same and even if this is a gimmick, changes nothing to you.
If you are not a premium member, this is not going to make you sign up for it because it really is not that good of a perk.
