Landshark Roadshark!!! Pt. 2

Well this project was a blast to complete.

Thanks to eBAUMANN, Joachim and proletariandan for the stem, bars, and saddle respectively.

Also SUPER big thanks to oliver1850 for helping me update the Shamals to 10sp!

Trying to figure out what I should do for bar tape and water bottles, suggestions welcome but I doubt I'll be able to hear you because the bike is so LOUD! (seriously though suggestions are welcome)

Tons of color(s) going on...go for the gusto...pink tape and saddle to pop the Shamal logos. Simple stainless cages.

Very nice ride.
The more Landsharks I see the more I want one.

For the cages I would say pink, and bartape chartreuse.

HELL YEA! Been waiting for pics of this thing to surface...

That paint is great, I really enjoy the schemes that utilize John's more artistic/experimental techniques and this certainly falls into that category! Looks like water color!

For bottles, go bright and bold (a la GSC bottles) and for tape, might I recommend cinelli caleido tape (subtle with crazy colors peeking through the pert) -- Yes this is exactly what I did with my shark...because it looks awesome!

one little thing i just noticed...the dt cable stops, i do believe they are flipped/swapped...also youll get a much cleaner shift housing bend around the head tube if you cross the cables under the downtube

RE the cable stops. Really? The one I'm using for the fd adjusts in clicks and is really hard to fine tune for the RD. I tried it but was getting frustrated.

Tried GSC, their bottles sell fast!
LBS suggested Merida lampre team bottles.

And caleido tape, thought of it, but I really wanted the inside to be the outside!

Need to tweak saddle and bar angle although I can't seem to figure out how to get the saddle angle lower.....later tonight it should be perfected.

thanks again Eric, the stem is awesome.

Landshark

I don't think he supports the steel stuff at all. I am not sure he will even repaint one.
He tends to offer an upgrade to a current carbon shark.
I love the steel ones though.
I used to have a fillet brazed one. Great paint job. A bizarro Merckx. Blue with orange panels (instead of orange with blue). Then it had dark swirls in the blue and also "glitter sharks". You had to be close to see the swirls and glitter.

I actually have a 1" threadless wound up on my Merlin. I was considering putting a full carbon fork on it and taking off the alloy group for a carbon record 10sp group.

You got me thinkin expensive ideas......

He seemed to care enough to dig around for a fork. Or at least rustle around on the phone for a few minutes to pretend like he was looking.

Have people asked for a respray from him and he said no? I wanted to get my work landshark resprayed if I retire it.

Try to talk John into painting it for you! Not sure he will but worth a try.
