oddball Seat post size

Hi,

I recently bought a used carbon frame that has a Dedacciai Blacktail Race rear triangle. It came with a basically straight Deda Super Carbon seat post that measures 32.1 - 32.2 MM which is a non standard size - does anyone know if that is the correct seat post size? I need a setback seat post and guess I will just try to shim a 31.6 post. The seat tube measures 32.22 at the widest and less (31.8 average) elsewhere. I tried a 31.8 to 27.2 shim and the seat post clamp bottoms out B4 the post is tight.

The carbon seat tube has an aluminum insert that extends about 7/8 " above the carbon tube.

Any other ideas? I can get alum. or stainless shims in different thicknesses so pretty sure I can get it to work.

The builder doesn't have a clue, I sent an email to Dedacciai but have not heard back.

There is now one on Ebay - apparently they made a 32.4 seat post.

Thanks,
Jeff

Yikes!

I just automatically default to soda cans in situations like these.

"aluminum insert that extends about 7/8 " This is weird... are you sure that's not a shim??? would you please post a picture of this?

Well at some point a genius used a metal shim and the thing got corroded and fused with the carbon tube?? How tick is it?

Blade type spark plug feeler gauges come in a variety of thicknesses, I'd give that a try.

Not weird - as I said it extends about 7/8 of an inch ABOVE the carbon tube it is around 4" long - roughly 3" down in the tube and is epoxied in place. It is slotted for the seat post.
