$500 is peanuts. If it's your size, buy it and ride it. Um, check that -- buy it, put some pedals on it, and ride it.

I can't imagine a scenario in which you'd regret it. That's enough bike to be a really satisfying ride, especially with a nice pair of wheels. Or, if you want a -- I can't bring myself to say a beater, but a commuter or rain-bike -- then, realistically, that's not too much to pay,
