To each his own....I like 'em quiet.
I have a hard time getting my 240s 's to roll quiet.

King R45s are the worst. Taking that horrid Chris King buzz and ramping it up a couple octaves.

The tune rear MIG ones are the most incredibly annoying sound I have ever had the pleasure of riding next to in the parks of NYC.

I have Hope and King hubs on different mountain bikes and the Hope is louder than the King. Not sure if this translates to the road variants but Hope would be worth a look/listen.
Fairwheel did a noise comparison video a few years ago; http://blog.fairwheelbikes.com/2012/...se-comparison/ |

i know a lot has to do with the lube too.
generally, if CK R45 or DT swiss hubs are super loud, they are too dry. DT hubs with the 54t ratchet rings installed are pretty noisy too, but if they have a good light lube, they quiet down quite a bit.

Had an old set of Gipiemmes. Each click sounded like a revolver cocking.

I love the sound of my Tunes. Even well oiled, they sound with imagination/in my head like a revving V12

"I have a hard time getting my 240s 's to roll quiet."
If you take the freehub off and file the squared end of the pawl to a rounder softer edge it will quiet them down a little bit. your could also crush the springs so they don't push so far up. the centrifugal force will let the pawls make contact. Be aware this is the equivalent of adding miles/wear to them.
