After a lovely chat Steve told me it sounded like Dennis' bike would fit me to a "T". It did. Too bad none of my bikes work very well for me after my big crash. Thus far I have resisted the temptation to get the bars WAY up there like a frankenbike.

So happy to hear this!

Did we do something to piss him off? Why hasn’t he been around at all?

Got fit by him last season. Did a great job with me. He told me he just got busy with other things. When I saw him, he was packing an S&S tandem for a 2 week trip.

Well I did in a way because my Hampsten was built by MOOTS with YBB Rear End.

Fixed lost me when he claimed that he was witness to the hit and run death of a homeless person and someone here called him out on the fact that it didn't happen. Apparently he was quite the storyteller when it benefited him.

Dave Thompson...well he is reportedly being considered to play James Bond in the upcoming 25th Bond movie which will be released in 2019. That's what he told me anyway.

I liked Fixed and his online persona. He seemed happy.

I just wished he had always claimed he was a “trans-black bike messenger”

In previous incarnations, the forum was, I think, a spicier stew. The flavors were stronger, the personalities more pungent. Yes, it burned your mouth sometimes, but it reminded you how many flavors cycling can have. Wish some of those flavors were still on the menu.

Personally: I was surprised as many others were when Fixed/Butch turned out to be other then he had long claimed. Was suspicious as well about the guy dieing in his arms story. Then there were the fishing expeditions for free stuff from members, sometimes blatant, sometimes much more nuanced. Put that all together...I don't miss that little slice of our history.

Overall: In a way the forum mirrors life, people come and go, some stay for a long time, some move in and out, a few leave in a huff, and some pass on as life unfortunately and ultimately does. Flux an all though there has always been good people here.

You are what makes this a great place to hang out!

Fixed

I always imagined Fixed as a lawyer sitting in his cubicle laughing as he wrote in "bro speak".

Well, I for one sent F..ed a couple of freebies. The guy that I always wondered where he went is the FRN guy, "AhneidaRide - I need a ride" Ray was his name? The handlebra guy IIRC.
