Mariposa in Canada and
Mike Terraferma in Miami, FL are a couple more that come to mind.

Am I missing anyone? If y'all were/have to commission/ed a builder to make that sort of bike who would you go to?
Thanks much for your advice!
is Mitch Pryor/MAP still taking orders? I know he took a break for a while.
I'd add Tom Matchak onto this list. You may also consider the Boulder Bicycles All Road (Waterford made), which can be had in stock sizes or custom'd for an additional fee.

I think one of the mechanics at this shop had Waterford make one....

that bike looks great, don't know what the wait it for a waterford but that could be a pretty solid deal. (actually, don't know what a waterford goes for these days)

Yes he is. I emailed him last week. He was working at Paul on his break, but he's back at it! And he said he could get it done by this spring!
Only thing is he is not cheap! But from what I've read he's worth every penny. Whether or not I get a frame from him will mostly come down to how much money I get from my settlement...

John built me a low trail fork and a porteur rack. Really nice guy. Easy, prompt communication. Great looking welds. Beautiful curve on the fork. I'd definitely recommend him.

Steve Ahearne does some amazing work and will customize pretty much whatever you want. I've seen a couple of his touring rigs and they looked fantastic. I don't know what his current wait time is, but last I heard it was less than a year.

He's also got a collaborative thing going with Chris Igleheart called Paige Street Cycles. I haven't seen one of these out in the wild yet, but their web site looks really cool. Their specialty is a 650b touring bike.

Since he regularly did that for BoulderBicycle, I don't see why not. Call him.

Josh Muir doesn't seem to get a lot of attention in these parts, I do however like his work. His website could use an update.

with $ to spare for dyno hub, rack, bags
just kidding
I would kill for a Rene Herse or Alex Singer
Good hunting!!!

Great list!

Am loving my Ebisu 650b. Understated appearance; meticulous craftsmanship; exceptional ride quality.

Somewhat surprisingly, I recently converted a Trek 400 to 650b and discovered that it rides very nicely. Not as amazing as the Ebisu, but not bad for a beater!
