Almost got blown up today

So glad life is not like the movies.

Went for a little ride today with a neighbor. We’re on a trail near a turnpike when we hear a giant skidding crash behind us. We turn around and there is a semi on its side gushing fuel out the top.

First instinct was to go check on the driver, second was to be a good 200-300 feet way. Pic taken as closest motorist was assisting him.

He eventually climbed his way out the top of the cab ( drivers door) and came over to where we were. Said he was fine, just clutching his chest and saying a car turned sharply in front of him.

He had just filled up with 8000 gallons at a nearby fuel refilling station!

We came back by on our way home two hours later and all roads were blocked around as they tried to contain the mess, but no explosion, thankfully.

Holy carp--that's scary!

Glad the driver was OK--kudos to the motorist who went to their assistance. Happy that no one was injured.
