insanity

is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. if you can't discuss the problem and possible solutions you are part of the problem. we can grieve, be sad, and still move forward.

50 killed, 400+ hurt. That's just insane. I don't know the shooters name, I don't ever want to know his name.

Shock
Pray
Politicians blather &
People take sides
Nothing changes- Nothing

Everyone should ask themselves how a culture arrives at a point where anger turns into a demonstration of violence intended to kill & injure the most they can.

And it is, statistically proven, a largely US phenomenon. Why is that?

Problem is...you can't fix crazy. Crazy people do crazy things, most harmless, a few deadly.

Ssri medications? We certainly have more folks on those types of medications than anywhere else in the world. Could be a correlation between the two?

US has more crazy people than other western societies?

Nope.

And sorry, but “crazy” is just the first stage of rationalization. A coping mechanism.

It’s seems to be because we can’t talk politics after an event like this and thus can’t talk any policy which leads to quietly allowing these events to happen without ever having “the right time” to discuss the issue. It should be a two prong approach - grieve AND find solutions.

It’s like a domestic violence victim trying to talk to their abuser but the abuser says it’s not the right time to talk because I’m beating you right now.

It's natural, and I know where you want to go...but it isn't going to happen here. A million others sites to go and comment. We aren't going there on this forum.

It's a senseless tragedy that won't be solved here.

Sorry if this contributes negatively, but I agree with you 100%. An appropriate response in integral to how people deal with this moving forward. You can define 'an appropriate response' however you wish....

Fifty people dead the last I heard. This is horrible.......

At this time, I think this is the appropriate response to close the thread.
